Coaching Staff
The CUW Soccer Academy staff includes many of the following experienced coaches:

Tom Saleska
Camp Director
Retired Concordia University Wisconsin Head Men’s Soccer Coach

Tom has 40 years of coaching experience at the club, high school, and collegiate levels. During his coaching career, he has won a high school state championship, has been selected as Coach of the Year on five separate occasions, and has developed one of the strongest NCAA Div. III soccer programs in the Central Region of the United States (8 conference championships). Tom holds a USSF National “C” license. In 2017, the CUW men’s team was NACC Champion and Coach Saleska was voted NACC Coach of the Year.

Ryan Middendorf 
Assistant Camp Director
Concordia University Wisconsin Head Women’s Soccer Coach

This past fall, Ryan finished his 17th season as the CUW Head Women's Coach. As a player for the CUW men’s team, Ryan twice was named All-Region, All-State, All-Conference and Team MVP. He holds a USSF National “D” license and a NSCAA Advanced National coaching diploma.  He led the CUW women’s team to become NACC Champions in both 2015 and 2019. Coach Middendorf was also voted NACC Coach of the Year in both 2015 and 2019.

John Saleska
​Concordia University Wisconsin Head Men's Soccer Coach

John, a former defender and three-year starter while playing here at CUW, has 14 years of coaching experience.  He holds a USSF National “C” license and a NSCAA Advanced National coaching diploma.  John has previously coached at the Bavarian Soccer club for 8 years heading up boys' teams ranging from U16-U19.  He has led two Bavarian teams to Wisconsin State Cup Championships in 2015 and 2018; in 2016 his Bavarian U16 team team was a Midwest Regional Tournament Finalist, and in 2017 his U16 team was a Wisconsin State Cup semifinalist.

Ben Gyuricza
Concordia University Wisconsin Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach

Ben Gyuricza has been an assistant coach with the Concordia University Wisconsin Men’s Soccer team for the past five years. During his time with the Falcons, Ben has helped guide the program to two NACC titles and the programs first national ranking. Ben, a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin, played two seasons of soccer for the Falcons, including his senior year, where his team reached the NACC tournament final match. Ben also has seven years of club coaching experience to add to his coaching resume, which includes helping guide the Bavarian U16 boys to the USYS National League and then requalifying then as a U17 team to another National League appearance. Ben has earned a USSF National “C” license and was also awarded the 2019 Wisconsin Competitive Club Coach of the Year Award.

Hannah Kaul
Concordia University Wisconsin Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

Hannah Kaul has been a full time assistant coach with the Concordia University Wisconsin Women’s team for four years.  Hannah, a graduate of UW-Milwaukee, was a Panther captain and was part of a soccer program that won four consecutive Horizon League Championships, resulting in four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.  Also, Hannah has been a camp instructor for Northwestern University and coached at Butler University as a youth coach during the summer.

Jason Burdge
Coach Wisconsin Soccer FC Club

Jason, a former professional goalkeeper for the Chicago Power, the Chicago Stingers, the Milwaukee Wave and the Milwaukee Rampage, has 22 years of coaching experience. He has coached various club teams and has extensive soccer camp experience, which includes working at the CUW Soccer Academy, the Milwaukee Wave camps, the UW Parkside camps and the Vogelsinger camps. Jason holds a USSF “D” license.

Other recent Concordia Soccer Academy staff who may help again this year:  Mike Bruckner: (USSF National “B” license and a NSCAA Advanced National coaching diploma) and Thomas Goines: Head Women’s Coach Barton College NC, (Advanced National coaching diploma, USSF National “D” license).
